The Ale Trail team invited a few beer friends in the community on an Ale Trail Tour, jam packed with beer, fun, and behind the scenes insight on some of the best breweries in south Austin and Dripping Springs! The Beer Bus fam worked with us to create a custom tour to snag those passport stamps and maximize the brew hop experience. here’s a snapshot of how our day went.
We started the day off with pints and pies at Austin Beer Garden Brewing (ABGB). Amos, the brewmaster, shared his love for true pilsners and mused about the ups and downs of being one of the OG breweries in Austin. It was a treat to get an education on the classic style and get to know one of the true masters in the Austin beer scene.
Next, we hit up Fitzhugh Brewing and had the brewhouse tour with brewmaster Nate, sharing his creative beer projects and what inspires his unique and tasty brews. Nate explores different cultures, their cuisines, and local ingredients to come up with new ideas for creative beers. A lot of research and consideration goes into each project for some interesting results.
Then we made our way to Acopon Brewing for a guided flight tasting with owners, Dave and John, including a history lesson on classic British and European beer styles. Dave and John picked out their favorite beers and shared stories about the styles and their love for them. The insightful discussion left us with a new appreciation for beer styles you don’t see too often in the States.
Lastly, we landed at Ghost Note Brewing to enjoy some brews and good tunes with owners, Kenny and Thelma, along with brewer, Tyrell. Ghost Note is known for their “Porch Style” beers, easy drinking beers you can enjoy all day. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, see live music, and watch the sunset on a Sunday evening.
ATX Beer Bus works with you to create a custom tour curated for your group and interests. They’re a great way to collect those Austin Ale Trail stamps but if wineries and distilleries are more your thing, they do that too!
